Overview

The SD4140 is a low-power controller for leakage circuit breakers in AC sockets.These devices can detect dangerous current paths to ground, such as when the device falls into water.The circuit breaker disconnects before a harmful or fatal shock occurs. The SD4140 has a built-in rectifier bridge, Zener tube regulator, operational amplifier, current reference, delay circuit, latch, and thyristor driver. The application line architecture is designed with one SCR external relay, three capacitors and one external resistor.Simple layout and minimal number of components ensure ease of application and long-term reliability. SD4140 is available in SOP8 and DIP8 packages.
